Our school was chosen as Mayo County Winners 2025 for this years ‘Big Travel Challenge’. This is the second year in a row to be chosen as County Winners which is a fantastic achievement for our school. As part of the challenge pupils had to travel to school sustainably for 9 days during the month of February. Last year we had 76% of our pupils travel sustainably to school. This year during the challenge the number of pupils travelling sustainably rose significantly to 90%. We are honoured to be recognised and selected for the outstanding work and enthusiastic participation our pupils put into this challenge. As a reward for winning the County title the school has won €200 and will receive a certificate in recognition for travelling sustainably to school during ‘The Big Travel Challenge. We will look forward to celebrating our success and achievements later in the year.
